Precautions

Handling: Plasterboards are heavy and can be fragile, so they require careful handling to avoid breakage. Larger boards may need two people or mechanical assistance to move.
Cutting and Dust: Cutting plasterboards generates dust, which can be harmful when inhaled over long periods. Protective gear such as dust masks and goggles should be worn during installation.
Water Exposure: Standard plasterboard is not suitable for wet areas. Always use moisture-resistant variants in areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and basements.
Fire-Rated Installation: Fire-rated plasterboards must be installed correctly, following guidelines, including proper fixing, jointing, and sealing, to ensure fire protection performance.
Load-Bearing Considerations: Plasterboards are not structural, so they should not be used for load-bearing walls. Heavier loads such as shelves or TVs should be fixed directly to the studs, not just the board.
